About Greyparrot:

The world is in a waste crisis. Currently, we produce 2.1 billion tons of solid waste per year. Data collection of the waste we produce is non-existent, meaning no systematic transparency and no accountability. As a result, recycling targets are not upheld, dumping of waste into our oceans remains nobody's responsibility, recyclables get sent to landfill or incineration, and producers get away with sub-standard packaging. By 2040 the plastic stock in the ocean will have quadrupled - a problem that already costs society $1.5 trillion every year.

Our mission at Greyparrot is to digitise waste to increase transparency and efficiency in recycling by providing data analytics to sorting centres, packaging producers and regulators. Currently, our camera system and AI software are deployed in recycling plants and waste facilities, like A2A, around the world to measure material flows and provide waste analytics. We’re looking for a Copywriter to further accelerate our efforts.

Job requirements

About the role:

The successful candidate will work closely with our CEO and marketing team to craft compelling copy that solidifies Greyparrot’s reputation as a global thought leader in the recycling industry, including topics such as sustainability, climate tech, AI and the circular economy. You will support with our brand messaging and tone of voice in all marketing assets, influencing the customer journey from acquisition, through to conversion and retention.

A typical day in this role looks like:

  • Maintaining brand voice in all marketing communication

  • Crafting strong copy (including campaign taglines, email copy, product headlines, social copy and editorial content) that improves the customer experience

  • Reviewing, rewriting, and approving all marketing copy following established processes

  • Assist in improving workflows, tools and processes


  • Excellent written communication skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Evidence of developing, implementing and maintaining consistent brand messaging

  • Demonstrable copy in the start up or climate tech space (e.g. blogs, press release, articles, thought leadership pieces, website copy, CEO quotes, social media posts)

  • Confident with working collaboratively with designers, PR professionals and team members across the business

  • Comfortable with crafting content that is relevant, well researched and SEO optimised

  • Passion for addressing the waste crisis or other environmental issues

It’d be a plus if you had:

  • Experience in social media growth strategy

  • Experience in B2B outbound messaging using Hubspot, LinkedIn, email etc.

  • Ability to create visually appealing content or guide the design of the content
